Select ‘Mobile’ on leads to speed up customer validations

When a customer is creating their MySunnova account or doing online contract validation, they have to complete an account validation step. Validation is completed when the customer receives and enters a code sent to their mobile phone. If the phone type on the billing contact is not “mobile,” (i.e. it’s “Home,” “Work,” or “Not Selected”), the customer will not receive the SMS and will be unable to validate their phone number without assistance.

Battery Updates

On Monday, September 23, 2024, we will remove visibility of Gateway 2 in PC2 and Catalyst.


Tesla Back Up Gateway 3 (GW3) has been added to our product offerings and our Active Vendor Listing (AVL) for quoting with the Powerwall 3 (PW3) in both AC-coupled and DC-coupled configurations. It is available to quote through PC2 and Catalyst. The Gateway 2 (GW2) remains on the AVL but is only available for select dealers after Monday, September 23.


Until September 23, the GW2** will remain available for quoting with PW3.


As of October 1, 2024, visibility of PW+ will be limited to use for PPA + RateGuard in California.

Configuration Updates

All PW3 systems must include GW3 or the Back Up Switch*

The PW3 can be paired with the Back Up Switch* in DC-coupled whole-home backup configurations (not available with all utilities).

To add the Remote Meter, select 2045796-xx-y in the ‘Other’ field drop down menu in the PV section. This will be renamed “Remote Meter” soon.

Updated Base Module

Effective September 21st, the QCells 410W will be the base module for all finance types in all markets.

New Quoting Software

Beginning on October 2nd, all dealers using Auto Designer will be automatically enrolled in OpenSolar and will be able to select OpenSolar or Aurora as their design tool when quoting in Catalyst or Legacy Quoting. Effective October 30th, all new auto designs will go through the OpenSolar design engine. Dealers will be able to access in-progress Aurora designs until November 18th.

Sunnova Home Depot Leads

Sunnova now live in CA, CO, FL, TX, and VA.  Launching in 300 stores across 40 markets in 16 states.


They are in Approx. 70 stores in AZ, CA, CO, FL, TX, and VA.  New stores are being added and generating leads weekly.

Due to recent changes to Sunnova’s approved equipment list, the following products will no longer be available with Sunnova:

New Support

Effective 8/27/24, Sunnova has a new dedicated Dealer Support aka Sales Personnel line exclusively for Freedom Forever. This team is equipped to assist FF Sales with a wide range of services, including: (see image to the right)

Sunnova App

The app is now available.  Please ensure the customer downloads the Sunnova app as the final step after installation. This can be done seamlessly after the installation is complete to confirm the customer’s account is operating correctly while simultaneously enhancing your service offering.

Sunnova Home Depot Leads


Freedom Forever has partnered with Sunnova and The Home Depot (THD) to create retail leads. Freedom Forever, Sunnova and The Home Depot are launching over 300 stores in the coming weeks. 


Home Depots will be staffed to generate these leads.


This offering will greatly expand the amount of leads available to sales representatives. In this webinar they will discuss the sales requirements to get these new leads, the program's best practices and how to work your leads in Lightspeed to maximize success.

Sunnova now LIVE in AZ and TX

Sunnova's lease and SunSafe solar + storage lease is available state-wide in both states, with select utilities in TX also offering the PPA and PPA-EZ products.

Updated Payment Options

Sunnova announced Visa and Mastercard as acceptable forms of payment for battery and battery component orders. Dealers wishing to pay by credit card must indicate this on their purchase order and Sunnova will update the PO to capture credit card information.


After validating the payment method, Sunnova will ship the batteries within approximately 72 hours. The final invoice will include the product price, a 3% credit card fee, and shipping costs.
