Everbright Payment Update

We want to address the recent delays in payment timelines for many TPO (Third-Party Ownership) products. To help streamline this process, we’re adjusting our payment milestone for Everbright projects.

What’s Changing?
Starting immediately, once a project is marked as "Installed," there will now be a 15-day funding period before it becomes eligible for payment (M2 eligibility). This is a significant improvement to help payments move faster, even though we’re still waiting for PTO (Permission to Operate).

Example:

We’re implementing this change immediately, including for projects this week.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your leaders. Thank you for your hard work and continued dedication!

Stay Ahead of Your Delayed M3 Submissions

As a reminder, we’d like you to let us know if your job is in danger of not meeting the M3 submission deadline. Between October 13-17, we’ll be rolling out an optional task to M3 called “Delayed Job Notes.” This task should be completed no later than 10 days before the M3 submission deadline. If you need an M3 extension, please let us know the reason for the delay, and the anticipated final inspection and PTO dates.

Custom Utility Rates Not Allowed in Regulated Markets

To ensure accurate savings projections in homeowner proposals, as of October 18 you will not be able to quote using custom utility rates in regulated markets. Affected states are displayed in blue in the map below:

For now, this quality control measure will be applied to the state level. We will address custom utility rates for regulated utilities within deregulated or “restructured” states in the near future.

Maximum Milestone Completion Time

We’re updating our milestone deadline dates to give you the benefit of completing milestones early. Beginning later this month, the time saved from completing a milestone early will be rolled over into the next milestone. For example, if you complete M1 in 40 days (20 days before M1 expiration), the time saved (20 days) will be rolled over into M2, giving you 140 days to complete M2. If you complete M2 early, the time saved will be rolled over into M3.

Under this new framework, the timeline will start at credit approval. Installation Completion (M2) must occur within 180 days of credit approval and System Activation (M3) must occur within 270 days of credit approval. EverBright will continue to enforce the previously announced policies for missing the Installation Completion (M2) and System Activation (M3) deadlines:

Don’t forget – homeowners are excited about going solar and can’t realize the benefits until you reach System Activation. Frequent communication and project updates are key to homeowner satisfaction.

Utility Bill Required at M1

Starting in November, EverBright will be requiring a utility bill be submitted as part of the milestone deliverables in M1. The Utility Bill requirement will improve savings calculations for homeowners as well as fulfill incentive documentation requirements. A full copy of the homeowner’s recent (within 12 months) utility bill must be uploaded and must show information about the meter that is to be serviced as well as the utility rate, property address, and utility account number.

PPA Shade Study Task Moved to M2

In November, the PPA workflows will no longer have an optional Shade Study task in M1 and the Shade Study task will be required in M2. This gives you more time to generate and upload the Shade Study.

Consumption Monitoring Requirement

In November, consumption monitoring equipment, specifically a Current Transformer (CT) clamp, will be required for all jobs in order to monitor the home energy load. This increased visibility will improve the customer experience and enable EverBright to provide more products and services to the customer. Approved consumption monitoring equipment is currently limited to CT clamps; we will update our AVL as needed to reflect additional approved consumption monitoring equipment. More details on how to fulfill this requirement will be shared soon.

Digital Welcome Checklists Are Coming

As a reminder, new Digital Welcome Checklists will be replacing the need for you to perform Welcome Calls. Enabled by our Early Access initiative, which will give homeowners access to the MyEverBright homeowner portal upon contract signing instead of in-service date, our Digital Welcome Checklist will make it quick and easy for your customers to complete the welcome checklist requirement at their convenience. Beta testing will begin shortly and we expect to roll this out more broadly by the end of the year. More details and answers to FAQs will be shared soon.
