Note: You can't bring your own roofer under a Freedom Forever Deal.  Freedom already has a set of preferred roofers and are not accepting new roofers at this time.

Note: You can use your own roofer, but it would be outside of the solar deal.

Add Costs to Proposal

In the proposal, go to adders and choose the type of roof replacement that you are doing.  

• Choose between "Re-roof (full)" and "Re-roof (partial)" so that Freedom Forever knows what type of documents to look for when reviewing your project.

• Put the re-roof cost into the flat amount field from the roofing provider you choose

Uploading Documents

Upload the roofing information into the project in Freedom Forever Lightspeed Portal

It is best to upload the information so that Freedom Forever knows who the contractor is and so that they can work through the logistics with the roofing company to get solar on the roof.

Dealer Fees & Tax Incentives

If the homeowner is financing the deal they will increase the cost of the roof by the dealer fee increase amount.  

They will also be able to take advantage of the federal tax credit if they pay enough in taxes.  The Investment tax credit gives tax payers up to 30% of the total system cost of their system back in their taxes.  With low incomes the homeowner might not get the full benefit of the federal tax credit because their low tax liability (the amount you owe in taxes).

In some cases it may make sense to do the roof outside of the solar deal.
